The main town on Samos Island is not really "Big Apple", but it
has it's qualities though. You can go shopping on the fruit market
or in one of many tourist souvenier shops. There is a nice park
near the market where you can have a rest with a cool drink. You
can get valueable fishing gear, if you wanna try your luck and a
bit out of town there even is a Lidle market. An other bit furtheron
towards Pythagorion, you can also find a Go-Cart track. Have fun.

Once
you're in town, you shouldn't miss out on the rcheaological museeum.
Since youare on the island of Polikrates, Evpalinos and Pythagoras
there is a lot to discover. The entrance is free of charge on sundays.
Thats probably becouse you can't go shopping :-) The nisest places
are along the harbor where the big ships come in from Athens, Chios,
Lesbos and also from Kusadasi in Turkey. Here is also where the
boats for day trips to turkey leave.
The second
place to see would be Vathi, the old town from Samos Island. Small
path ways, old houses, some in typical turkish style and heeps of
flowers.

We sure hope you want need it but Samos Town has also a rather good
hospital. If you follow the road to the harbor and along the hospital
and you come out of Samos Town, ride on a few kilometers and you
will see some very beautiful spots to take some pictures. All the
way along to Nissi is very nice and green. |
